going to Louisiana for a few days to lease bayou frontage for future camping
Tonight (Friday) I am going to Louisiana to choose and lease a spot along Bayou Amy, as I said I might in a recent post.

It is going to be quite warm, and probably dry, and I will be back Tuesday, so I am packing light, although I am taking James with me again.

This week I learned how to make hominy from the yellow field corn I foraged in the early fall.

It turned out to be very easy. -I just boiled the hard corn for awhile in water with a few teaspoons of baking soda.

The outer skin on the corn actually begins to dissolve in the water, but the inner kernels soften up quickly, much more quickly than in just plain water.
